The waiting list for the Trout Section is open to applications, which are considered in chronological order. However recruitment for the 2023/4 season is now complete and the membership is full. Applicants currently remaining on the waiting list and new applicants will be considered for available places next year.

Before acceptance, all applicants are invited for a meeting with the relevant officer of the Society, to ensure mutual suitability for membership. The meeting may be conducted by telephone or Zoom. There is usually a waiting list as membership numbers are limited to ensure pleasant fishing in unspoilt surroundings and so early application is advised. Applicants are enrolled from the waiting list annually for the 1st April.
Membership categories and fees for 1st April 2023 to 31st March 2024:
Joining Fee of £60. This is a one-off fee for the duration of membership, which becomes payable only when you are accepted for membership.

Full Trout Member (Adult) Annual Subscription (1st April-31st March): £370.00
Associate, spouse or partner of Full Member: £137
Jr. Trout Member: Junior memberships are only available in association with a full member, please contact the Membership Secretary for details.
Guest Tickets: from £20 depending on the venue (available to members’ guests, accompanied by the member only).
Some waters (principally the chalk streams) attract additional day-rate booking fees for Members, these vary from £20 to £70 per day for Members, dependant upon the venue and date. Chalk-stream booking is only available on certain days of the week, in season. Guest tickets are also available for purchase by members who wish to take a guest with them, the guest cost is usually 2x the member day rate. All these tickets are offered at very attractive rates and are bookable online via the Society’s Website.
All charges and subscriptions are subject to annual review.
Members are issued with a rule book in PDF form, full compliance with which is a condition of membership.

It is a condition of membership that all able bodied members attend at least one work party a year.

I understand that by submitting this application form I agree that:

  1.  If after interview, I am accepted for Society membership, this will be on the basis of a two year probationary period, during which time my membership may be terminated by the Committee without a reason being given.
  2. I will be asked to pay a single joining fee and an annual subscription. The rates of each may be reviewed and adjusted from time to time by the Committee.
  3. I will be invited to renew my subscription on an annual basis.
  4. I agree to abide by the code of conduct, rules and regulations of the Sussex Piscatorial Society and I further understand that non-compliance renders a Member liable to expulsion.
  5. I agree to the relevant authorised officers of the Sussex Piscatorial Society holding the information provided on this form for the time necessary to process my application. This may include a period of time on the waiting list if applicable. Where the application is successful, the information on this form will be held securely on the Membership List for the period of membership.
